An objection occurs when the public or a third party opposes the registration of a registered trademark. It could be due to several reasons, such as similarity with any existing trademark, offensive and detrimental to the feelings of a particular religion or a marginal group, etc. The registry uploads a copy of the Exam Report on its official website and sends a letter to the applicant requesting for the response.
It is important to send an appropriate response to the TM objection report within 30 days after the report is issued. The response can also be made by an agent authorized by the registered trademark applicant.
